Travel's Tough but One Lucky Orlando Southwest Flight Got a Special Surprise from Jersey Mike's and Villa Italian Kitchen

Cooked up for Southwest’s WOW Wednesday, passengers on one of the airline’s flights departing from Orlando International Airport (MCO) received a special (de)-parting gift yesterday thanks to Jersey Mike’s Subs and Villa Italian Kitchen, two of the popular food operators at the airport.

Celebrating travel, and bringing joy and food to the departures area, Jersey Mike’s and Villa Italian Kitchen presented the more than 160 passengers and crew on Southwest flight #5806 to Denver with:
  • A delicious slice of Neapolitan cheese pizza, made with homemade dough prepared fresh daily, 100 percent whole milk mozzarella and sauce made from fresh California tomatoes.
  • An authentic #7 Turkey Breast and Provolone sub served Mike’s Way® with lettuce, tomatoes, olive oil and red wine vinegar blended to perfection and spices.

“As soon as they were seated, passengers dove into their brown bags and pull out a sub and slice of pizza,” said Phil Capozzi, VP Non-Traditional Development, Jersey Mike’s, who was on the flight to Denver.  “It was terrific to work with our partner Villa Italian Kitchen to make it a sub above day for all the passengers traveling on Southwest’s flight to Denver.”

As part of Southwest’s WOW Wednesday promotion, the airline partnered with Jersey Mike’s and Villa Italian Kitchen to give travelers a lift whether heading home or just beginning their journey.

“The Villa Italian Kitchen and Jersey Mike’s teams truly enjoyed having the opportunity to treat the Southwest passengers and crew to a delicious surprise this afternoon,” said Ira Williams, General Manager, Villa Italian Kitchen, which is the franchisor for Jersey Mike’s in Orlando. “We hope that our Subs & Slices were the perfect way to kick-off their flight to Denver and we look forward to serving them again during their next visit to Orlando!”
