Local Resident Fulfills Dreams Of Opening Jersey Mike's Subs Shop

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., February 26, 2018 – This week, Olathe resident Justin Feuerborn, 26, fulfills his longtime dream of owning a Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurant. He opened his new location on Wednesday, February 28, at 15901 Antioch Rd. in Overland Park with a free sub fundraiser to support Braden’s Hope for Childhood Cancer.

Feuerborn started working as an hourly team member for Jersey Mike’s franchisee Michael Spiegel in 2011. Since then he’s held every position in the restaurants. For about the last three years, he’s been a store general manager as well as the certified trainer for the area.

Feuerborn is part of the Jersey Mike’s STAY program, which stands for Sweat Tears And Years, where hard-working managers partner with mentors/franchisees to become owners. In this case, Feuerborn is partnering with Michael Speigel who also owns the Olathe and Lee’s Summit locations.

“Justin’s put in a lot of hours and a lot of work to get to this. He has always been a highly motivated young man, whose passion for the brand is highly visible in the way he runs a store,” said Spiegel. “We are thrilled to have such a stand up person taking on a new and bigger role with the franchise.”

Feuerborn and Spiegel held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, February 28 to Sunday, March 4 to support Braden’s Hope. The restaurant circulated 7,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $2 contribution to Braden’s Hope.

“We are super excited to be opening our first location together, and are fortunate enough to partner with our friends at Braden’s Hope again,” said Feuerborn. “They are a group that we have gotten to know over the years, and their cause is something we are really happy to be a part of. We feel like Jersey Mike’s will be a great fit in the Overland Park community.”

As part of the company’s 8th Annual Month of Giving, the new Overland Park location, as well as the Olathe and Lee’s Summit sub shops, will accept donations for the charity throughout the month.

Feuerborn and Spiegel are exemplary Jersey Mike’s franchise owners who shares the company’s commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised more than $28 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 2 million free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.  Last year, the company’s 7th Annual Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving in March raised more than $5.5 million for nearly 150 charities throughout the country.

Started in 1956, Jersey Mike’s now has 1,500 restaurants open and under development nationwide. This year, Jersey Mike’s was named the country’s fastest-growing Limited Service Chain and fastest-growing sandwich chain in the 2017 Nation’s Restaurant News Top 100.

The growth is fueled by passionate Jersey Mike’s fans who crave their subs made Mike’s Way® with the freshest vegetables – onions, lettuce and tomatoes – topped off with an exquisite zing of “the juice” – red wine vinegar and olive oil blended to perfection.  Jersey Mike’s premium meats and cheeses are sliced on the spot, piled high on in-store baked bread and served up with a helping of neighborly banter from a dedicated and high-energy team.

Jersey Mike’s STAY program provides an opportunity for franchisees to make a difference in their managers’ lives by becoming a mentor. Both manager and mentor have ownership in the new Jersey Mike’s Subs franchise. The program was inspired by a now multi-unit franchisee and her mentor multi-unit franchisee.

The restaurant’s hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.  You can contact this location directly at (913) 730-8862.
