Jersey Mike’s Subs will officially open its doors in Savannah next week. Jersey Mike’s owners Ryan Delman and Chris Brown know the importance of community involvement and will celebrate their new ties with the area when they hold a grand opening on Wed., Mar. 11. This is the first Jersey Mike’s Subs to open in Savannah.
To commemorate the grand opening, the new restaurant, located at 111 Jazie Drive (in the Whitemarsh Center), is hosting a 5-day fundraiser to benefit Coastal Middle School. Anyone who has a fundraising coupon can get a free regular sub for a $1 donation from Wed., Mar. 11 through Sun., Mar. 15. Coupons are being distributed throughout the community and in local newspapers.
“Coastal Middle School’s mission is to ignite a passion for learning and teaching at high levels,” Delman said. “We share that commitment to our local children and invite the community in to help us raise funds to support the school’s good work. We look forward to getting to know our neighbors.”
Delman and Brown are strong proponents of giving back and have been active in their communities including supporting youth organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
According to Peter Cancro, founder and CEO of Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike’s mission. All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well.
“We are excited to see this new franchise team in action,” said Cancro. “Ryan and Chris have a real passion for serving their customers and the community and I know they are delighted to share our authentic Northeast-style subs with Savannah.”
Delman started his career at Jersey Mike’s 12 years ago in Greenville, NC, “making $4.75 an hour,” he said. Later, Delman trained Brown when he first joined the sub business. Brown lives in Savannah and Delman in Charleston. They are involved with a number of Jersey Mike’s Subs stores throughout the Carolinas.
Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
