Jersey Mike's Subs Raises Funds for Flower Mound High School at Grand Opening
Owner Celebrates with Free Subs
Jersey Mike’s Subs will officially open its doors in Flower Mound next week. Jersey Mike’s owner Phil Weachter will celebrate his new ties with a grand opening on Wed., Dec. 3.
In honor of the grand opening, the store, located at 2701 Cross Timbers Rd., #202 (in the Kroger Shopping Center), is hosting a 5-day fundraiser for Flower Mound High School’s Booster Club student scholarship fund. Coupons are being distributed in local papers and customers who bring one in and donate $1 to the school receive a free regular sub through Sun., Dec. 7.
“We’ve been in the Dallas area for 9 years, and we are excited to share our authentic Jersey Mike’s Northeast-style subs with the Flower Mound community,” Weachter said. “We’re doing this fundraiser so local residents who want to try our amazing subs can do so for free, with the added bonus of helping deserving kids go to college. We are looking forward to meeting and working with the community here.” Phil lives in Lantana with his wife, Regina, and 20-month-old son, Nathan. They have a daughter on the way in the New Year.
According to Peter Cancro, founder and CEO of Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike’s mission.
“Phil Weachter is the kind of first-time store owner we get excited about,” Cancro said. “He is committed both to the business and to the community in which his business exists. At Jersey Mike’s we believe those are the keys to success.” All Jersey Mike’s franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well.
Phil’s wife, whose brother worked at the original Point Pleasant, N.J. store as a teenager, first introduced him to the Jersey Mike’s experience. “As a kid, Regina used to bicycle from the beach to that original store three times a week for her sub fix. So it was nothing for her to make me drive an hour round-trip to try the subs here, and once I did, I was a believer,” he said. “Right away I thought I’d better open a store that was closer to home.”
Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Mon. to Sat., and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sundays. You can contact this store directly at (972) 906-1066.
