Jersey Mike’s Subs will officially open its doors in Moorpark next week. Jersey Mike’s owners Dawn and Troy Robinson will celebrate their ties here with a grand opening on Wed., Nov. 19. This is the Robinson’s second Jersey Mike’s Subs shop. They opened their first just two years ago in Dawn’s hometown of Camarillo.
In honor of the grand opening, the store, located at 144 W. Los Angeles Ave, #103 (in the new center Tuscany Square), is hosting a 5-day fundraiser for the “Teens for Humanity” Club at Moorpark High School. Coupons are being distributed in local papers and customers who bring one in and donate $1 to the charity, receive a free regular sub through Sun., Nov. 23.
“We are thrilled to open a second location here in Moorpark and hope everyone comes in to say hello and also help support Moorpark High School,” said Dawn Robinson. “Teens for Humanity promotes important lessons about accepting others which ties directly to the health of our local community. As a mom and a business owner, I know how important that is.”
According to Peter Cancro, founder and CEO of Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike’s mission. All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well.
“All funds raised will go to Peace Day Camp, an annual event which helps our students, from a wide variety of backgrounds, learn that they have a lot in common with others,” said Carrie Pentis, Assistant Principal, Moorpark High School. “Budgets are tight and without Jersey Mike’s help, it would have been a challenge to hold this event this year so please come in and support the club.”
Teens for Humanity is a student-led organization committed to reducing violence on campus by promoting awareness and acceptance of all students. Karla Arriarán-Rodriguez is the faculty advisor.
Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., 7 days a week. You can contact this store directly at 805-517-1574.
