There's a new restaurant in town and its owner is pledging to give back to the community by hosting a five-day fundraiser to support the Macedonia Fire Explorers. Jersey Mike's Subs opens July 23 at 8210 Macedonia Commons Boulevard with a grand opening and free sub fundraiser.

Franchise owner Roger Mitro and manager Amber Rakotci will be accepting any of the 10,000 coupons the restaurant is circulating throughout the community. The coupons, which will be accepted through July 27, offer a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to the Macedonia Fire Explorers. Customers must have a coupon to be eligible.

"After trying Jersey Mike's for the first time, I immediately fell in love with the sandwich and knew I wanted to be a part of the business," said Mitro. "This opportunity to join the brand and open a location in Macedonia is truly exciting. Macedonia is the perfect community for Jersey Mike's and I'm looking forward to introducing our exceptional product and company culture of giving back to the community."
