Jersey Mike's Subs Raises Funds For Grove City High School at Grand Opening

Owners Celebrate with Free Subs

Jersey Mike’s Subs will officially open its doors in Grove City next week. Jersey Mike’s owners Pam and Tom Westerlund know the importance of community relations and will celebrate their new ties with Grove City when they hold a grand opening on Wed., Nov. 19. This is the fourth Jersey Mike’s store for the Westerlunds, with one already in operation in Hilliard and two in Gahanna.

This store, located at 4114 Buckeye Pkwy., is hosting a fundraiser for Grove City High School in honor of the grand opening. Customers who bring in a related coupon (distributed through local newspapers) and donate $1or more for the high school will receive a free regular sub from Wed., Nov. 19 through Sun., Nov. 23.

“We are most comfortable when we are part of the community – it’s one of the main reasons we chose a direct-to-the-people business like Jersey Mike’s and we’re looking forward to getting to know the community and helping out the kids at Grove City High,” said Pam Westerlund. In future months, they will do weekend fundraisers for the other three high schools in Grove City, as well.

The Westerlunds are active in many charities including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the March of Dimes March For Babies and the Race Against Leukemia. According to Peter Cancro, founder and CEO of Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike’s mission. All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well.

“The Westerlunds’ on-going commitment to giving back is inspiring,” said Cancro. “When we give back to the communities we serve, everyone benefits. We congratulate Pam and Tom on their new store and appreciate their good community work and business success.”

Pam Westerlund believes the formula is simple. “People + Jersey Mike’s Subs + Eating = Happy. We love being part of that satisfying and wholesome interaction,” she said. “Our subs are truly fresh – we slice real cheeses and tasty meats in front of our customers, then add freshly sliced veggies and sauces on twice-daily baked bread. Plus, our subs weigh more than any of our competition – what could be better?”

Store hours are 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sundays). Contact this store at (614) 594-0074.
