FLORENCE, Ky. – Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Florence on February 26. Franchise owners Mark Potter and Dorothy McCutchan held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, February 26 to Sunday, March 2 to support Florence Elementary School and Yealey Elementary School.
The new restaurant, located at 1035 Vandercar Way, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to either school.
“We’ve always loved the product and service that Jersey Mike’s offers its customers,” said Potter. “For my business partner, Dorothy, and I, opening our own business was the next logical step and Jersey Mike’s was just the right fit. Every Jersey Mike’s opening is a chance to give back to the community through a five day grand opening fundraiser. To celebrate our opening, we’ve partnered with two local elementary schools. Our goal is to make a positive impact by supporting our education system and helping to fund early education.”
Potter and McCutchan are exemplary Jersey Mike’s franchise owners who share the company’s commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised nearly $7.5 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 600,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
Started in 1956, Jersey Mike’s now has 1,300 restaurants open and under development nationwide. In just three years, the company has nearly doubled in size.
The growth is fueled by passionate Jersey Mike’s fans who crave their subs made Mike’s Way® with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature olive oil blend, vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses, sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike’s nearly 60 years ago. The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.
This is the first Jersey Mike’s location for Potter and McCutchan.
The restaurant’s hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. You can contact this location directly at (859) 282-8310.
