“Our extraordinary customers, franchise owners, team members and charity partners have outdone themselves this year during our 4th Annual Month of Giving,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO. “We exceeded our goal and are grateful to everyone who helped make a difference in people’s lives.”
During the month of March, customers were invited to come in to their local Jersey Mike’s restaurant and make a donation to a local designated charity partner. The campaign culminated in Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” on Wednesday, March 26, a daylong nationwide event when 100 percent of the day’s sales were donated to each local charity partner. The charity recipients included hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more.
Last year’s “Month of Giving” raised $1.7 million for 86 local charities. Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised nearly $10 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 750,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
Jersey Mike’s believes that making a sub sandwich and making a difference can be one and the same, a philosophy that has fueled the sub sandwich chain’s popularity. Following its successful recipe of deliberate, well-considered expansion, Jersey Mike’s has nearly doubled in size in just three years.
Jersey Mike’s, a fast-casual sub sandwich franchise with more than 1,300 locations open and under development nationwide, has a long history of community involvement and support. Beaumont Children’s Hospital is proud to partner with Jersey Mike’s during their Month of Giving. Their efforts help provide free heart screenings to detect abnormal heart structure and rhythms in young people who are at risk for sudden cardiac arrest, the most common cause of sudden death in the U.S. Without local community partners like Jersey Mike’s, these children would remain unscreened and at risk. We can’t thank Jersey Mike’s enough for their commitment to helping the children of the Detroit community. Thank you, Jersey Mike’s!
Matt Romkey, Associate Director

We are blessed to once again partner with Jersey Mike's Subs during their March Month of Giving program. When you give a donation to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, your entire donation goes to your local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital- and the money is used where it’s needed most. Most often, donations are used for life-saving equipment that supports providing healthcare that works, healthcare that is safe and healthcare that leaves no one behind. Children’s Hospital patients are provided quality care, regardless of their ability to pay.

On behalf of Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, I want to say thank you to Jersey Mike’s Subs for selecting us as a Month of Giving recipient. This lounge provides a welcoming and relaxing space for family to gather outside of a patient room, and includes comfortable seating with plenty of space for families to visit, read books, watch TV and play games together. Because of your contributions, these important amenities are possible. Thank you.

The Children's Hunger Project is delighted beyond words to be chosen again as a beneficiary during Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving. Bryan Price and his team have supported The Children’s Hunger Project in a remarkable manner. The Jersey Mike’s Subs locations in Brevard County also assist our charity throughout the year. The money raised is a blessing with all of it going to purchase food for local hungry and undernourished kids. No administrative costs are involved with any money raised during the Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving program. We are equally excited over the prospect of having our name displayed in each of the stores. This gives us the opportunity of creating awareness to many people that may not have heard about us through other channels. In our area, the problem of hunger and malnutrition is much higher than the national average. How touching it is to have a food vendor be the catalyst for making it possible for people who are not their customers…elementary school age kids…to receive food. Mere words are not sufficient for me to express how blessed we are to have the support of Jersey Mike’s Subs. What I am able to say, though, on behalf of kids that have no voice, "THANK YOU”!
Robert Barnes, Co-Founder

In order for us to serve more kids, more often, it is a blessing to have strong community partners like Jersey Mike’s to help us succeed. Thank you!
Francie Charles, Resource Development Director

Named for a gifted local musician who lost her long struggle with cancer, The Karen Chandler Trust (KCT) is a locally based 501(c)(3) charity. Since 1999, KCT has provided emergency assistance to local families struggling with the non-medical costs of cancer - expenses like rent, food, utility bills, and transportation. Since Jersey Mike’s open in Redding California in 2013 they have been dedicated to supporting the Veterans community. The monies raised from the Jersey’s Mikes Month of Giving will allow the Northern California Veterans Museum and Heritage Center to move forward with our building project located on Airport Road. Having a dedicated location for the museum allows veterans to visit and remember which is critical in the healing process for both the injured Veterans and their families, whether the injury can been seen from an outside appearance. It allows Gold Star families the opportunity to talk about their loved ones with individuals that are dedicated to keeping the sacrifices of their loved ones alive. Our Mission is dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and to honor Veterans of all branches for the United States Military, maintaining the history and the traditions in way that might not otherwise be available through appropriated funds. The museum will forever document and depict the story of American history as seen through the eyes of its veterans.
Desiree Clements, Board of Director

Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving Program helped SA Youth tremendously last year. Because of your donations, SA Youth helped 3,500 kids stay off the streets and out of trouble. We served almost a million hot meals to hungry children after school and during the long summer months when school’s not in session. And, 138 young people who had previously quit school got a second chance at life, by coming to SA Youth to work on getting a high school diploma and a job skill. These young people built an environmentally friendly home which earned the city’s greenbuilding award. Thank you for making a difference that counts! Because of Jersey Mike’s, SA Youth is changing lives.

We all can learn a lesson from the culture of Jersey Mike’s. Giving back to the community and to support those in need is a goal we all should pursue. But, to take that commitment to the level Jersey Mike’s does is truly unique. The Month Of Giving impacts customers, charities and communities. Who would have thought that enjoying a sandwich, chips and a soft drink could impact thousands and thousands of lives? Jersey Mike’s Founder Peter Cancro did, and Steven’s Hope for Children is honored to be included in this event that will benefit families of seriously ill or injured children with housing, food, clothing and other expenses during the time of their child’s health crisis.

Topeka Youth Project’s Youth Court provides youth with the opportunity for leadership, to learn more about their civic duty, and how to take responsibility for their actions by attending court. This program is youth led and youth driven by 13-18 year old students. The judge, prosecutor, defense attorney, jurors, bailiff, court clerk and defendants are all teenagers. They hear cases of first time traffic offenders, with misdemeanor charges.

The leadership at Jersey’s Mike’s understands it takes a huge community effort to extinguish domestic violence, abuse, and neglect from our community’s landscape. They have answered the call to action with their Month of Giving campaign and have given us an opportunity to join forces with them to make a positive impact in the lives of at-risk children. We salute them for developing this business model for others to follow and appreciate their continued support of our mission. Without this support, many children would not experience the feeling of a good night's sleep. Windwood provides help, hope, and healing through residential, out-patient, and in-home interventions that breaks the cycle of abuse and rebuild strong and resilient families.
