Jersey Mike's Subs Raises Funds For James Bowie High School At Grand Opening

Another Jersey Mike’s Subs will officially open its doors in Austin, Texas next week. Jersey Mike’s owner, Manual Hernandez, knows the importance of community relations and will celebrate his new ties with Austin when he holds a grand opening on Wed., September 3.

The store, located at 4404 W. William Cannon, is hosting a 5-day fundraiser for James Bowie High School in honor of the grand opening. Customers who donate $2 to the high school will receive a free regular sub through Sun., September 7.

“I grew up in Austin and am excited to be part of the community,” Manny Hernandez said. “The fundraiser for James Bowie High School will benefit both the football team and the marching band. I went to college on an athletic scholarship so I know the importance of pursuing excellence in activities whether it is sports, music or another passion, and we want to support that.”

According to Peter Cancro, founder and CEO of Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike’s mission. All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well.

“You can sell the best products in town, but if you don’t become a part of the community that you serve, you will never be a success,” Cancro said. “Manny Hernandez cares a great deal about the community, and especially wants to see every child reach his or her potential. I congratulate Manny on this new store and applaud him for his commitment to the community.”

Jersey Mike’s in Austin is a family affair. While this is Hernandez’ first store, his sister and brother-in-law own three other Jersey Mike’s stores in the city and serve as area directors in Central Texas for the company.

Store hours are 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Sundays, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.). You can contact this store directly at 512-891-0222.
