Jersey Mike’s, a fast-casual sub sandwich franchise with more than 1,300 locations open and under development nationwide, has a long history of community involvement and support. Jersey Mike's serves up an authentic taste of the Jersey Shore, with fresh sliced subs on fresh baked bread – the same recipe it started with in 1956. The company’s mission is to bring its customers the highest quality, freshest made sub in the industry and give back to the communities in which it operates.

What does your business offer that is unique when compared to similar businesses?

Jersey Mike's is unique because of the quality and freshness of our food, our focus on personal interaction with our guests, the fun experience and our commitment to the community. For instance, when we opened our restaurant in December we held an 11-day free sub fundraiser for the charity "We Got Next" and The Colony High School and we raised $1,500. Our subs are fresh sliced and fresh grilled on the spot and our fans love them Mike's Way(r) with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and "The Juice": red wine vinegar and olive oil blended to perfection. That's how you make an authentic Jersey-shore style sub.

What is the most important part of your job on a daily basis?

Meeting the needs of our customers is the most important part of my day and that takes many forms: Making and serving superior sub sandwiches; reaching out to our community and making an impact; and teaching my staff to deliver the fantastic hospitality for which we are known.

What are your keys to success?

I think the keys to our success are to deliver on promises, develop our team to be the best it can be, and to always make a fun and delicious sub experience for our customers. When we ask "How can we help you?" we mean it.

What surprises you most about your job?

Although I'm obviously a big fan of the Jersey Mike's Subs brand, I was still a little surprised at how well known it is in DFW and specifically in Lewisville. It's certainly great to see that we already have a great fan base in our city.

Tell us something most people wouldn't know about your company.

Two things come to mind immediately. Our Founder Peter Cancro started the company when he was only 17 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey -- and he wasn't even legally able to use the slicer! Also, most people don't know that we have a secret "locals only" Jersey Mike's menu.
