Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, will officially open its doors in Temecula on December 11. Franchise owners Steve Leonard and Fred Downey will hold a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, December 11 to Sunday, December 15 to support Cancer for College.
To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 32068 Temecula Parkway, is hosting a 5-day fundraiser with proceeds supporting Cancer for College. Anyone who has a fundraising coupon can get a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution. Ten thousand coupons are being distributed throughout the community. Additional offers will be issued through direct residential mail.
Cancer for College was formed in 1993 by Craig Pollard as a senior project while at the USC Business School. Craig was a two-time cancer survivor and witnessed firsthand the financial impact cancer can have on a family and the hope a college education can provide to a survivor.
Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way® with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature olive oil blend, vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. This is the fifth Jersey Mike’s location for Steve Leonard and Fred Downey. In August 2010, they opened their first Jersey Mike’s location in San Marcos. Leonard and Downey are the owners of additional locations in San Diego, Escondido, and Poway.
