Jersey Mike's Subs continues its westward expansion with the announcement of stores opening in Arizona. Immediate locations in Phoenix and Tempe will be followed by more locations later in the year. The announcement was made by Jersey Mike's CEO Peter Cancro.
Arizona, the 26th state Jersey Mike's has entered, continues the sub sandwich franchise's westward momentum which includes locations in California, Washington, Texas and Nevada.
"We feel Arizona will be a fantastic state for Jersey Mike's," said Bill Mapes, Jersey Mike's Arizona Area Director. "You just can't find an authentic Northeast-style sub sandwich in Arizona. Our rapid expansion and fanatical following in neighboring California makes me believe we'll experience similar growth and success here in Arizona."
Mapes should know. He discovered Jersey Mike's as a customer in Ventura County, California. A former Domino's Pizza franchisee, he loved the sandwich so much, he pursued the opportunity which landed him in the Phoenix area. Jersey Mike's concept relies on fresh, high quality ingredients, like 99% fat free turkey and certified angus roast beef cooked right in the store. Sandwiches are fresh sliced right in front of the customer and served on store baked bread "Mike's Way" with fresh onions, lettuce, tomatoes, an olive oil blend, red wine vinegar and spices.
Jersey Mike's Franchise Systems, a national sub sandwich franchise with over 400 stores open and under development, has a long history of community involvement and support. Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's serves authentic Northeast style subs on fresh baked bread - the same recipe it started with over 50 years ago. The company's mission is to bring its customers the highest quality, freshest made sub in the industry and give back to the communities in which they operate.
