Drop Off New, Unwrapped Toys at Participating Jersey Mike’s Stores December 15-22

Five Jersey Mike’s stores in Georgia will serve as official toy collection locations for the annual U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program Saturday, December 15 through Sunday, December 23. Jersey Mike’s is asking members of the community to drop new, unwrapped toys in collection boxes at one of its five participating locations in Georgia: Brookhaven, Dunwoody, Peachtree City, Reynolds Crossing and Powers Ferry Road.  

“With the recent recalls that have plagued the toy industry, it is critical now more ever that than we help Toys for Tots in its mission to deliver a ‘safe’ toy to every child in need,” says Jeff Sponsler, a Jersey Mike’s Atlanta Area Director.

Marking the 60th anniversary for the Toys for Tots tradition of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, Jersey Mike’s will also donate a portion of every Jersey Mike’s gift card sold through December 31 to the organization and will make a minimum monetary donation of $25,000 to Toys for Tots that will be used to purchase age and gender appropriate toys children in need.

“The success of the drive depends ultimately on the support of the local community and the generosity of the people who donate toys. Jersey Mike’s is proud to be a part of it year after year,” adds Sponsler.

Over the past 10 years, Marines have distributed an average of 12,600,000 toys annually, and brought the joy of the holiday season to an average of 5,600,000 children in need each year. In 2006, Toys for Tots delivered more than 19.2 million toys to over 7.6 million children across the United States living in poverty.
