Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, once again called on the support of sub sandwich lovers everywhere who made a substantial difference this March during the third annual “Month of Giving” by helping to raise an unprecedented $1.7 million for 86 different charities nationwide.
“Our extraordinarily generous customers, franchise owners, team members and charity partners have outdone themselves this year during our third annual Month of Giving,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO. “We are grateful to each and every one of them. With the passionate participation of our local communities, this year we were able to more than double our Month of Giving contributions to our charity partners as they continue every day to make a difference in their local communities.”
During the month of March, customers were invited to come in to their local Jersey Mike’s restaurant and make a donation to a local designated charity partner. The campaign culminated in Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” on Wednesday, March 27, a day-long nationwide event when 100 percent of the day’s sales were donated to each local charity partner. The charity recipients included hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more.
Last year’s “Month of Giving” raised $858,000 for 74 local charities. Since 2010, including proceeds from this year’s “Month of Giving” campaign, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

As the Founder of our charity, I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled we are for The Children's Hunger Project to be chosen as a beneficiary during the Jersey Mike's Month of Giving. The level of support offered to us is nothing short of amazing! This will be a great boost to us in a number of ways. First, from a financial standpoint, this is of significant importance since the only thing that limits our ability to feed more kids is money. Hate to put it in such basic terms, but that is the reality. Of equal importance, though, is to have our message spread to the thousands of Jersey Mike's customers in our area. Most people are not even aware of the significant hunger and malnutrition problem going on with elementary school age kids in our own back yard. With awareness of the problem through exposure by the Jersey Mike's Subs locations, we will get financial support from people we might never have reached without your campaign. - Robert Barnes, co-founder

Last year’s Month of Giving raised nearly $858,000 for 74 different charities nationwide and this year Jersey Mike’s hope to raise even more.
During the month of March, customers are invited to come into their local Jersey Mike’s restaurant and make a donation to that location’s designated charity partner. Charities include hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more.
The campaign will culminate in the nationwide event, Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” on Wednesday, March 27 when 100% of the day’s sales are donated to the local partner charity. View a list of participating restaurants and for more information on charity partners.
“I would like to extend a personal invitation to come in and enjoy a Jersey Mike’s sub during our Month of Giving in support of one of your local charities,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO, who started the company when he was only 17 years old. “The opportunities to give are all around us so we hope this March you will join us to make a difference in someone’s life.”

This philosophy coupled with the company’s passion for quality products – Jersey Mike’s wins best sub awards in virtually every market it enters – has fueled the sub sandwich chain’s popularity.
