Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, opened its fifth Houston location on February 13. Franchise owner Terry Nordenstrom held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, February 13 to Sunday, February 17 to support the Bellaire Belles.
The new restaurant, located at 8001 South Main Street, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to the Bellaire Bells. An additional 15,000 coupons will be sent through direct residential mail.
The Bellaire Belles are a performance dance team that serves Bellaire High School by dancing at games, sponsoring activities, and taking part in parades. Dancers learn teamwork, build strong positive attitudes, develop their personal fitness level, and form long-lasting friendships.
Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.
Terry Nordenstrom exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised more than $5 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
“At Jersey Mike’s we are committed to giving back to the community,” said Nordenstrom. “We are excited to partner with the Bellaire Belles for our grand opening fundraiser and we look forward to another great grand opening celebration in Houston.”
Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way™ with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature blend of olive oil, red wine vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.
This is the third Jersey Mike’s location for Terry Nordenstrom. In February 2012, he opened his first location in Houston at 1635 Eldridge Parkway. Nordenstrom opened another Houston location last month at 103 Yale Street. He has plans to continue expanding in the greater Houston area in 2013.
