Jay Punukollu opened his second Jersey Mike’s Subs location -- the first in Elk Grove Village. He has been operating his initial location in Gurnee since December 16, 2010.
A grand opening and free sub fundraiser supported Elk Grove High School and Margaret Mead Jr. High School. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution. Ten thousand coupons were distributed throughout the community.
The new store is located at 178 Biesterfield Road, Elk Grove Village.
“Elk Grove is an exceptional community,” said Punukollu. “With this fundraiser we hope to further the potential of the most promising members of Elk Grove — the students.” Punukollu sees his partnership with high schools as an opportunity to successfully facilitate the mission of the school system—to ensure academic success and social-emotional growth of all students.
Punukollu exemplifies Jersey Mike’s culture of excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products, exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. In 2011, locations throughout the country raised more than $2 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 100,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
