Jersey Mike’s Subs officially opened its doors in Oswego. Jersey Mike’s owners Raj Patel and Jason Corriveau know the importance of community relations and celebrated their ties with the area during the grand opening on January 11.
To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 2428 Route 34, hosted a 5-day fundraiser from Wed., Jan. 11 through Sun., Jan. 15, with proceeds supporting Oswego East High School and Oswego High School Booster Programs. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution. Coupons were distributed throughout the community and in local newspapers.
“We love to connect with the communities that we’re settling into,” said Patel, “And supporting the Boosters programs in an area with such a strong high school sports following seemed like the perfect partnership.”
The Boosters Programs support the enhancement of the athletic experience of all Oswego High School athletes, their teams, and their fans through the promotion of athletics, school spirit, successful student-athletes, and community awareness of their athletic & academic achievements.
All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well. “At Jersey Mike’s we believe you have to participate in your community to be a success,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO. “Raj Patel and Jason Corriveau are enthusiastic about being effective business leaders and we congratulate them on opening their second Jersey Mike’s location.
According to Corriveau, “Oswego is a rapidly growing suburb with boundless opportunity. Our interaction with our first location, Bolingbrook, has resulted in a unique relationship with the Bolingbrook High School that has allowed us to continue our contributions and fundraising. We look forward establishing this sort of relationship with the community of Oswego.”
