Jersey Mike’s Subs officially opened its doors in Fairfax. Jersey Mike’s owners, Todd Cohen and Robert Salerno know the importance of community relations and will celebrated their new ties with the area during their grand opening on November 16.
To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 10394 Willard Way, in the Courthouse Plaza, hosted a 5-day fundraiser from Wed., Nov., 16 through Sun., Nov., 20, with proceeds supporting The City of Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular sub for a minimum $2 contribution. More than 7,500 coupons were distributed throughout the community and in local newspapers.
“Each and every day, the community of Fairfax puts their trust and faith in the hands of the Fairfax City Volunteer Fire Department. This exemplary group of men and women approach their job in the same manner with which we approach ours at Jersey Mike’s - with pride, integrity, and an undying commitment to excellence,” said Cohen.
Finding a worthy organization to support during their grand opening was important to Cohen and Salerno, who highly regard the values that Jersey Mike’s holds in all aspects of business. “We feel our charitable partnership with the local Fire Department reflects the fundamental spirit of Jersey Mike’s,” said Salerno. “Fairfax City Volunteer Fire Department’s mission of ‘providing high quality emergency medical and fire suppression and rescue services through the skill, commitment, and cooperative team effort of volunteers working hand-in-hand with the career staff’ was a solid fit.”
All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well. “We applaud Todd’s and Robert’s commitment to giving back and congratulate them on the opening of their new location in Fairfax,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO.
Todd Cohen, who favors the #13 (The Original Italian), lends his culinary passion and experience to his and Salerno’s first Jersey Mike’s location. They are eager to share the unique taste and unrivaled quality of Jersey Mike’s with the community of Fairfax.
