Jersey Mike’s Subs Raises Funds For Children’s Hospital At Grand Opening - November 2011

Owners Celebrate with Free Subs

Jersey Mike’s Subs officially opened its 7th restaurant in the greater Orlando area. Jersey Mike’s owners, Raul and Lisa Ceide know the importance of community relations and celebrated their new ties with the area during the grand opening on Wed., November 9.

To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 3042 West Sand Lake Road, hosted a 5-day fundraiser from Wed., Nov., 9 through Sun., Nov., 13, with proceeds supporting Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.  Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution.  More than 6,000 coupons were distributed throughout the community among local businesses.

“For our grand opening we felt it was important to uphold the principles of Jersey Mike’s charitable spirit and finding a worthy organization was an essential element,” said Mrs. Ceide. “We decided to recognize the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children because it provides superior care for the children of our community.”  The Hospital for Children offers the most advanced technology, coupled with compassion and dedication, making Arnold Palmer Hospital one of the most trusted names in children’s healthcare worldwide. The hospital has been recognized nationally, awarded the title of "Best Children's Hospital" in 2010 and 2008.

“We hope our partnership with the hospital furthers the amazing advances, accolades, and compassionate patient care it has achieved to date,” said Mr. Ceide.

All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well. “This is Raul and Lisa Ceide’s third Jersey Mike’s and they have demonstrated they know how to run a successful business,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO.  “Certainly, the key to that success has been their commitment to the community.   We applaud their charitable spirit and congratulate them on their newest Jersey Mike’s. ”

“We were initially attracted to Jersey Mike’s because of the superior food quality,” said Mrs. Ceide. “As we became more familiar with the brand, it was the people, the culture, and the sincerity of the organization that resonated with us.”

“We are proud to represent the great taste of Jersey Mike’s East Coast-style sub and excited to share it with the community of Orlando,” said Mr. Ceide, who favors the #13—the original Italian.
