Thank You for Helping Mike’s Way to the Cure Raise $1.1 Million for Susan G. Komen For The Cure
A Letter From Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s Founder and CEO
Congratulations, we all did it! We’ve always known Jersey Mike’s customers were a special “sub” culture, joining us in our mission to make a difference in our communities and here’s the proof: Our Mike’s Way to the Cure® campaign for Susan G. Komen for the Cure® has raised $1.1 million nationwide!
After meeting Nancy Brinker, Susan’s sister and founder of the organization, at the Honoring the Promise Gala held at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, I was greatly moved by the stories of those affected by breast cancer. I knew then that this was a cause we needed to be involved with.
Travelling throughout the country and at our national conference in June, I heard stories from our customers and from our committed franchise owners about how breast cancer has touched so many lives. Everywhere we went the commitment to the cause was overwhelming.
From all of us at Jersey Mike’s, thank you for joining us in this effort that truly touches everyone – families, friends and co-workers.
The individual fundraisers and initiatives many of you held in your own areas were a great way to reach out to the community as well, and we want to give a special shout-out to all of you who supported and participated in your local Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®.
At Jersey Mike’s, we talk about the “power of the sub sandwich” that supports our mission statement of Giving…Making a Difference in Someone’s Life. Nancy Brinker promised her sister that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever and I am proud to say that we are helping to do just that.
