Jersey Mike’s Subs Raises Funds For Ronald McDonald House at Grand Opening

Jersey Mike’s Subs will open its second store in Tallahassee on Wednesday.  The husband and wife franchise team of Angelo and Kimberly Crowell know the importance of community relations and will celebrate their new ties with the area during their grand opening on May 11.

To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 1355 Market St., is hosting a 5-day fundraiser from Wednesday, May 11 through Sunday, May 15, with proceeds supporting the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tallahassee.  Anyone who has a fundraising coupon can get a free regular size sub with a minimum $1 contribution.  More than 3,000 coupons are being distributed throughout the community.

"Tallahassee has truly embraced Jersey Mike's Subs and we are proud to be bringing another location to my hometown,” said Kimberly Crowell.  “Having the support of the community makes all the difference to us. We feel privileged to be able to partner with the Ronald McDonald House and to give back in a meaningful way. As we continue to open new Jersey Mike’s locations we look forward to supporting many important charities that help area children and families.”

Coinciding with the May 11 grand opening is the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tallahassee special 11 campaign.  It takes roughly $11 to house a family one night at the Ronald McDonald House of Tallahassee. The charity is asking supporters to donate in increments of $11. The mission of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tallahassee is to create, find, and support programs that directly improve the health and well being of children. As a home-away-from-home, it provides comfort and shelter to the families of children fighting illness.  It is a place of rest and rejuvenation after long days and nights at the hospital.

Reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike’s mission.  All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well.  “When you are an active contributor in the community it shows,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO.  “The Crowells are committed to helping the Tallahassee community.  We congratulate them on their second store.”

"I grew up on Jersey Mike's in North Carolina and loved their subs,”  said Angelo Crowell.  “When I was a freshman in college, I even asked the owner what it took to own one.  I never forgot about that conversation and now, years later, we are opening up our second Jersey Mike’s Subs and we can’t wait to develop even more.”

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. You can contact this store directly at (850) 320-6210.
