Jersey Mike’s Subs Raises Funds For Local Organizations At Grand Opening
Owners Celebrate with Free Subs
Jersey Mike's Subs opened its first store in the Bradenton area. Father and son Jersey Mike’s owners Patrick J. and Patrick S. George know the importance of community relations and celebrated their new ties with the area during their grand opening on May 4.
To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 4020 14th St. West, located in the Point Commons Shopping Center, hosted a week-long fundraiser from Wed., May 4 through Wed., May 11, with proceeds supporting both the Palmetto High School Rowing Crew and Beyond the Spectrum. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular size sub with a minimum $1 contribution. More than 7,500 coupons were distributed throughout the community.
"I have been in the restaurant industry for over 40 years and a small business owner in the quick serve restaurant world for more than 20 years," said Patrick J. George. “I firmly believe that giving back to the community, specifically to our youth, is vital to succeed. Our goal is to give both the Palmetto High School Rowing Crew and Beyond the Spectrum a competitive edge by raising funds to support their programs and services during our grand opening.”
The Palmetto High School Rowing Crew, formed in 2010, was the first of its kind in Manatee County. The rowers are now using the same facilities as nationally ranked collegiate rowing teams Harvard and Northeastern.
Beyond the Spectrum is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing individualized educational and behavioral therapy services of the highest quality to children with disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger's syndrome, ADD, ADHD and general behavioral disorders.
Reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike's mission. All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well. "We congratulate the Georges on the opening of their first store," said Peter Cancro, founder and CEO of Jersey Mike's Franchise Systems. "This is a great community and I know the Georges care about ensuring that all of Bradenton’s children have a chance to succeed."
“We live in Florida now and love it, but my father and I grew up in the Northeast and the taste of Jersey Mike's Subs brings us back home,” said Patrick S. George. “We are delighted to share these authentic East Coast-style subs with the Bradenton community. One of our top priorities at Jersey Mike’s Subs is to help our community. My father and I are excited to bring the Jersey Mike’s experience and our giving-back culture to Bradenton.”
Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. You can contact this store directly at (941) 748-7827.
