TCU students and faculty can eat a sub at Jersey Mike’s Subs during the month of March and help fight pediatric cancer. Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer (WOKC) is joining forces with Jersey Mike’s Subs throughout the DFW area for a month-long fundraising campaign from 2/28/11-3/28/11 to help raise awareness and funding for pediatric cancer research. Jersey Mike's will make a 25 cent donation to Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer for each regular sub sold and a 50 cent donation for each giant sub sold from February 28 – March 27. Monday, March 28, will be WOKC Day at Jersey Mike’s and customers will receive a free regular sub in exchange for a minimum $1 donation … although the hope is that customers will give more.
There are 3 Tarrant County Jersey Mike’s locations but the “official” TCU Jersey Mike’s location will be at 4833 South Hulen St in the Hulen Corner Shopping Center and the Hulen St. Jersey Mike’s is offering a very special promotion just for TCU!!
Last year this campaign raised over $50,000 which allowed Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer to extend their outreach to pediatric cancer patients in the Fort Worth area. Because of the success of the 2010 Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving, WOKC was able to donate $125,000 to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth. That donation is providing funding for 2 projects that will benefit local pediatric cancer patients. WOKC and Jersey Mike’s want to use a portion of the funds raised from the 2011 Month of Giving to bring the WOKC Buddy Bag program to pediatric cancer patients at Cook Children’s.
Please support a great cause by eating at Jersey Mike’s from February 28 – March 28! Spread the word to all your friends! Make a difference for Ft. Worth pediatric cancer patients …. One sub at a time.
