Jersey Mike’s Subs Raises Funds For Local School At Grand Opening
Owners Celebrate with Free Subs
Jersey Mike’s Subs opened its second store in Schaumburg. Jersey Mike’s owners John Griparis and Jeff Berns know the importance of community relations and celebrated their new ties with the area during their grand opening on March 2.
To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 2568 W. Schaumburg Rd., hosted a 5-day fundraiser from Wed., March 2 through Sun., March 6, with proceeds supporting Campanelli Elementary School, Jane Addams Junior High School and Schaumburg High School Sports Athletics. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular size sub with a minimum $1 contribution. More than 5,000 coupons were distributed throughout the community.
"Having the support of the community makes a difference to us. This is our fourth Illinois store and we know what it takes to hire top-notch team members who share Jersey Mike's core value of giving back,” said Jeff Berns. "Great customer service is not just something you train for, it is part of who you are. You have to be passionate about providing the best service to your guests and the surrounding community and that is something we truly value in our team members.”
Reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike’s mission. All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well. “We believe every Jersey Mike’s has a responsibility to its local community,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO. “John and Jeff will make a real difference in Schaumburg with their commitment to giving back. We wish them every success, and congratulate them on opening their fourth Jersey Mike’s Subs in Illinois.”
“Every guest that comes in to our stores wants the absolute best sub at a reasonable price,” said John Griparis. “With our 50-year sub making history, that's the easy part. Giving those guests a unique and satisfying experience and teaming up with the community in a meaningful way is the challenge we’ve set for ourselves in order to achieve true sub perfection.”
Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. You can contact this store directly at (847) 884-4646.
