Jersey Mike’s Subs Raises Funds For Local Organizations At Grand Opening

Owners Celebrate with Free Subs

Jersey Mike’s Subs has opened its first store in Fort Worth.  This will be the 22nd store in Texas for Jersey Mike’s Subs.  Jersey Mike’s owners Dalton Stewart and Chad Huffhines know the importance of community relations and celebrated their new ties with the area during their grand opening on November 10, 2010.

To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 4833 South Hulen St., in the Hulen Corner Shopping Center, hosted two 5-day fundraisers.

The first fundraiser, which took place from Wed., November 10 through Sun., November 14, benefitted the Tarrant Food Bank. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular size sub with a minimum $1 donation.  More than 5,000 coupons were distributed throughout the community.  The purpose of the Tarrant Food Bank is to eliminate hunger in Fort Worth and thirteen surrounding counties by providing food, education and other resources to a network of partner charities and their communities.

Additionally, on Wed., November 17 through Sun., November 21, Jersey Mike’s hosted a second 5-day fundraiser, with proceeds supporting the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts.  Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular size sub with a minimum $1 donation.  The Academy of Fine Arts aims to promote individuality and self-motivation within a structured environment by offering a rich, hands-on experience in multiple forms fine arts.

“One of our top priorities at Jersey Mike’s Subs is to help our community.  Chad and I are excited to bring the Jersey Mike’s experience and our giving-back culture to Fort Worth,” said Stewart.

Reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike’s mission.  All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors, and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well.  “To succeed in business, and in life, we must give back,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO.  “Dalton and Chad care greatly about the Fort Worth community and hope to make a difference here.  We are firmly behind them and congratulate them as they open the newest Jersey Mike’s Subs in Texas.”

“A friend told me to try this great restaurant that serves authentic subs called Jersey Mike's.  I was in Las Colinas and stopped in for lunch.  My friend was right - it was great.  I loved it immediately,” said Huffhines.  “The fresh, high quality meats sliced to order on fresh baked bread, prepared Mike's Way, appealed to me instantly. Combine that with a cool East Coast beach culture and the simple business model - it’s a perfect fit for me.  My wife Amy and I couldn't be happier to be part of the Jersey Mike’s family.”

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday –Sunday.  You can contact this store directly at (817) 294-2460.
