Jersey Mike’s Subs Raises Funds for Elementary School at Grand Opening
Owners Celebrate with Free Subs
Jersey Mike’s Subs opened its first store in Lake Wylie. Jersey Mike’s owners Bill and Nicole Ross know the importance of community relations and celebrated their new ties with the area during their grand opening on Sept. 8.
To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 604 Nautical Drive in the Shoppes at the Landing, hosted a 5-day fundraiser from Wed., Sept. 8 through Sun., Sept. 12, with proceeds supporting Crowders Creek Elementary School. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular size sub with a minimum $1 donation. More than 2,500 coupons were distributed throughout the community.
“Nicole and I have two children who are six and eight years old, and as parents, we know how important it is for them to get a good education. Schools are struggling with the recession; teachers need material for their students to excel in their learning environment,” said Ross. The mission of Crowders Creek Elementary School is to prepare every child for a successful, productive and responsible future. “We are looking forward to supporting the school and invite our new neighbors to come in and join us.”
Reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike’s mission. All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well. “At Jersey Mike’s, we believe businesses reach their full potential when they are active in their community,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO. “We congratulate Bill and Nicole Ross for helping the students of Crowders Creek Elementary and we are certain this will contribute to their success.”
This will be the Ross’ second Jersey Mike’s. “We have both lived at the Jersey Shore and always enjoyed eating at Jersey Mike’s. Becoming an owner was a natural step. My favorite sub is the #9-Club Supreme and Bill likes the Chicken Caesar Salad,” said Nicole Ross. “Lake Wylie is an up and coming area, and we are proud to have to our store located in this community.”
Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Sunday. You can contact this store directly at (803) 831-0912.
