Jersey Mike's Subs restaurants in Phoenix and surrounding communities raised more than $6,300 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix (BGCMP) during a month-long fundraising campaign. The five Jersey Mike's stores donated $1 for every #13 (Original Italian) sub sold throughout the month of April.
"It's a tough time for non-profits and we want to ensure Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix is able to continue teaching and empowering our future citizens," said Bill Mapes, Jersey Mike's franchisee and area director. "All of us in the Jersey Mike's Subs stores in Phoenix and the surrounding communities want to thank our customers in advance for helping support this great cause."
"More than ever before, kids need a safe place to go where they can get a nutritious meal, help with their homework and support from caring adults. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix is excited to partner with Jersey Mike's to help provide youth with the hope and opportunities they need to succeed," said Amy Gibbons, President and Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix.
Reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike's mission. All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well.
Jersey Mike's, a sub sandwich franchise with more than 450 stores open and under development nationwide, has a long history of community involvement and support. Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's serves authentic Northeast style subs on fresh baked bread - the same recipe it started with over 50 years ago. The company's mission is to bring its customers the highest quality, freshest made sub in the industry and give back to the communities in which it operates. A store locator and franchise information for Jersey Mike's can be found at www.jerseymikes.com.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix is one of the oldest and largest Boys & Girls Clubs in the country. Our mission is to inspire all youth--especially those who need us most-to reach their full potential as caring, productive, responsible citizens. Each year, more than 35,500 youth benefit from our life-changing programs and services at 12 Clubhouses, outreach programs in local schools and the community, and services provided at the BGCMP Dave Pratt Dental Clinic.

The store also served up free subs to all the kids who attended the check presentation and celebration. Other participating stores included those located in Phoenix, Chandler, Scottsdale and Ahwatukee.
