Conway Jersey Mike's Subs Hosts 2nd Annual Autism Awareness Jamboree
Partners with Horry County Project Lifesaver and Autism Advocate Foundation
Jersey Mike's Subs has teamed up with Horry County Project Lifesaver and the Autism Advocate Foundation once again to host the second annual Autism Awareness Jamboree. The Jamboree will take place on Sat. May 1, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the 2676 Church St. Jersey Mike's store. It will also be the final day of a month-long Project Lifesaver fundraiser that took place at all four Horry County Jersey Mike's Subs locations during the month of April, Autism Awareness Month.
"The Autism Awareness Jamboree was such a hit last year that we were thrilled to jump on board again this year," said Kevin Satterfield, Jersey Mike's Subs owner and Jamboree host. "Autism is one of America's fastest growing disabilities and is often one of the least understood. This is a great opportunity to educate people and at the same time have some fun."
The Jamboree is free to the public and will feature games, characters and inflatables for the kids; information booths; a dunking booth featuring local celebrities; public safety vehicles from the Police and Fire Departments; the specially-trained Dogs for Autism; food, entertainment and much more.
During the fundraiser for Project Lifesaver which took place in April, Jersey Mike's Subs stores located in Conway, Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet and North Myrtle Beach, gave 50 cents for every regular and $1 for every giant #7 sub (turkey & provolone) sold in all four locations.
Reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike's mission. All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well.
