Jersey Mike’s Subs opened its newest location in Beverly Hills. Jersey Mike’s owner, Galit Eyal Carr, entrepreneur and former model, knows the importance of community relations and is celebrating her new ties with the area as she holds her grand opening.
To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 279 South Beverly Dr., is hosting a 5-day fundraiser from Wed., June 10 through Sun., June 14, with proceeds supporting the Beverly Hills Fireman Relief Fund. Anyone who has a fundraising coupon can get a free regular sub for a $1 donation. Coupons are being distributed throughout the community and in local newspapers. In addition, the store will offer a one-day special for Beverly Hills High School staff and students on Thurs., June 11th. On this day only, anyone with a student or employee ID can get a free sub with a donation to the Fireman’s Relief Fund.
“We are located in the heart of Beverly Hills, near City Hall as well as the police and fire departments,” said Carr. “We selected the Fireman Relief Fund for this fundraiser because it benefits our local firemen who risk their lives and give so much to our community. We wanted to say thank you and show our support.”
Reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike’s mission. All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well.
“Beverly Hills is a long way from the Jersey Shore but the same mission applies: To bring our customers the highest quality, freshest made sub in the industry and give back to this local community,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s Founder and CEO. “Galit is committed to making a difference here and we know she will.”
Carr moved here from Israel nearly six years ago. Earlier in her career, she traveled internationally as a model and then earned a business management degree. After getting married, she and her husband founded and grew a successful chain of jewelry stores. She and her husband have 14-year old twins.
“My goal is to create something special,” said Carr. “I want a place that is fun for people to work in and eat in. Jersey Mike’s is like a family and I invite our customers to come in and get to know us.”
Carr started out as a Jersey Mike’s customer herself. Attracted by the quality and taste of the product, she learned more and found that the company’s commitment to giving back also resonated with her as she was raised in a family where it is important to “do something for your community.”
Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sundays. You can contact this store directly at (310) 288-0288.
