Jersey Mike's Subs Holds Job Fair Next Week

20 Immediate Openings/60 by Fall

Jersey Mike's Subs, a national sub sandwich franchise which opened its first store in Illinois in April, is holding a job fair on Thursday, April 30 at The Hampton Inn Chicago/Gurnee, 5550 Grand Ave.  Between 10 am and 12 pm, local owner and Jersey Mike's area developer Dan Shanahan will answer questions and accept applications for a range of positions from shift leaders to crew members.

By early fall, Jersey Mike's Subs expects to hire 50 to 60 team members in the area, starting with filling nearly 20 positions immediately for a new store opening in Gurnee in May.  This will be the third Jersey Mike's store to open in the Chicago area in the last two months with more planned.

"Jersey Mike's truly is a company of opportunity," said Mr. Shanahan, who has a strong track record in the food service industry with concepts including Dunkin Brands.  "I have been in the franchise world for nearly 25 years and I haven't gotten this excited about a concept for a long time. If you are outgoing, hardworking and are looking for an opportunity to grow with a company, we want to talk with you."

This story of opportunity begins at the top.  Founder and CEO Peter Cancro started the company at age 17, before he was even legally able to slice a sub.  Cancro credits an important mentor - his football coach -- for believing in him and supporting his dreams.  Today, Jersey Mike's has more than 400 locations open and in-development nationwide.  The company remains committed to making a difference in the communities it serves.  Last year, the company's fundraising efforts delivered more than $250,000 to local organizations.
