Jersey Mike's Subs Opens First Knoxville Location
Owners Celebrate With Fundraiser
April 30, 2014 • Knoxville, TN
Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Knoxville on April 30. Franchise owners Philip Horn and Donald Bauer, along with operating partner Ryan Wood, held a grand opening fundraiser from Wednesday, April 30 to Sunday, May 4 to support the YMCA of East Tennessee.
The new restaurant, located at 4839 Kingston Pike, donated 50 percent of all sales from April 30 to May 4 to the YMCA of East Tennessee.
“Opening a Jersey Mike’s location in Knoxville is a great opportunity for the brand,” said Bauer. “We are so excited to serve new customers and make a difference for our local community. In fact, for the first five days that we are open, half of our sales will be donated directly to the YMCA of East Tennessee. At Jersey Mike’s we believe in making a positive impact in our communities while serving a top quality sub sandwich and that’s exactly what we plan to do here in Knoxville.”
Horn, Bauer, and Wood are exemplary Jersey Mike’s franchise owners and operators who share the company’s commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised nearly $10 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 750,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
Started in 1956, Jersey Mike’s now has 1,300 restaurants open and under development nationwide. In just three years, the company has nearly doubled in size. A 2014 Technomic report ranked Jersey Mike’s in the top five fastest-growing restaurant chains with sales above $200 million.
The growth is fueled by passionate Jersey Mike’s fans who crave their subs made Mike’s Way® with the freshest vegetables – onions, lettuce and tomatoes – topped off with an exquisite zing of “the juice” – red wine vinegar and olive oil blended to perfection. Jersey Mike’s premium meats and cheeses are sliced on the spot, piled high on in-store baked bread and served up with a helping of neighborly banter from a dedicated and high-energy team.
The restaurant’s hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. You can contact this location directly at (865) 862-8800.
