Jersey Mike's Subs Opens First New Lenox Location
Owners Celebrate With Free Sub Fundraiser
January 20, 2014 • New Lenox, IL
Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, opened in New Lenox on January 8. Franchise owners Mac Shimmon and Bud Patel held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, January 8 to Sunday, January 12 to support Lincoln-Way Central High School, Providence Catholic High School, and Lincoln Way-West High School.
The new restaurant, located at 527 East Lincoln Highway, circulated 15,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Lincoln-Way Central High School, Providence Catholic High School, or Lincoln Way-West High School.
“We are so excited to finally bring the Jersey Mike’s brand to New Lenox,” said Shimmon. “Partnering with three of the local high schools for our grand opening fundraiser is a great way for us to become connected to the community. Our plan is to continue building long standing relationships within New Lenox by giving back to different local organizations and causes. We invite everyone to join us in making a difference as we open our doors on January 8.”
Shimmon and Patel are exemplary Jersey Mike’s franchise owners who share the company’s commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised more nearly $7.5 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 600,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
Started in 1956, Jersey Mike’s now has 1,000 restaurants open and under development nationwide. In just three years, the company has nearly doubled in size.
The growth is fueled by passionate Jersey Mike’s fans who crave their subs made Mike’s Way® with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature olive oil blend, vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses, sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike’s nearly 60 years ago. The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.
The restaurant’s hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. You can contact this location directly at (815) 463-0521.
