Jersey Mike's Subs Opens First Bloomingdale Location
Owner Celebrates Grand Opening with Free Subs

Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in Bloomingdale on November 13. Franchise owner Mark Michalak held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, November 13 to Sunday, November 17 to support Glenbard North High School and the Carol Stream Parks Foundation.
The new restaurant, located at 383 West Army Trail Road, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $2 contribution to Glenbard North High School or the Carol Stream Parks Foundation.
Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.
Michalak exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
“Bloomingdale is such a wonderful place and we have long anticipated opening our doors here,” said Michalak. “Each Jersey Mike’s grand opening is an opportunity to give back to the community through a five day opening fundraiser. For this opening, we are choosing to partner with Glenbard North High School and the Carol Steam Parks Foundation to help make a difference for the people of Bloomingdale.
“Through the other two Jersey Mike’s locations that I own, I have been able to donate over $22,000 to local causes in the year 2013 alone. Opening this new location in Bloomingdale creates another outlet for us to raise money and support the local community,” Michalak said.
Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way® with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature olive oil blend, vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.
This is Michalak’s third Jersey Mike’s location. In May 2010, he opened his first Jersey Mike’s in Lake in the Hills. He also owns a location in Crystal Lake.
