East Coast Sub Sensation Opens 18th Location in Washington Market
Owner Celebrates Grand Opening with Free Subs

Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, officially opened its doors in Greenbelt on March 20. Franchise owner Danny Malamis held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, March 20 to Sunday, March 24 to support Greenbelt Elementary School, Greenbelt High School, and Eleanor Roosevelt High School.
The new restaurant, located at 6000 Greenbelt Road, circulated 25,000 coupons and flyers throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Greenbelt Elementary School, Greenbelt High School, and Eleanor Roosevelt High School.
Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way™ with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature blend of olive oil, red wine vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. This is the 5th Jersey Mike’s location for Danny Malamis. In February 2010, he opened his first Jersey Mike’s location in Laurel. Malamis is the owner of additional locations in Germantown, Frederick, and Gaithersburg.
