Jersey Mike's Subs Opens Sixth Houston Location
Owner Celebrates Grand Opening with Free Subs
February 21, 2013 • Houston, TX
Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, opened its sixth Houston location on February 20. Franchise owner Miguel Guerra held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, February 20 to Sunday, February 24 to support the Klein Forest High School AVID program, Texas Youth Football Association, and Northampton Cudas swim team.
The new restaurant, located at 4765 FM 1960 Road West, circulated 10,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Klein Forest High School, Texas Youth Football Association, and Northampton Cudas.
Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.
Miguel Guerra exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised more than $5 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
“I am so excited to join the Jersey Mike’s family and be a part of such a community-focused brand,” said Guerra. “This grand opening fundraiser has given me the opportunity to work with three wonderful organizations that are all committed to making a difference for children and youth right here in Houston. I believe it is so important to support these groups that help shape our youth into responsible citizens.”
Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way™ with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature blend of olive oil, red wine vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.
This is Miguel Guerra’s first Jersey Mike’s location.
