Carmel Valley Resident Opens Her 5th Jersey Mike's Location
Owner Celebrates Grand Opening with Free Subs

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, officially opened its doors in the Rancho Penasquitos community of San Diego on September 26. Franchise owner Cathy Brown of Carmel Valley, held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, September 26 to Friday, October 5 to support Mt. Carmel High School and Black Mountain Middle School.
This is Brown’s 5th location. In addition to being a franchise owner, she is a Jersey Mike’s area director, responsible for growth and development in San Diego. Under her leadership, with this new restaurant, there are 14 Jersey Mike’s open in San Diego, with several more scheduled to open this year. Her area boasts the #1 store, based on sales, in the country.
The new restaurant, located at 13173 - 6 Black Mountain Road, circulated 7,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Mt. Carmel High School and Black Mountain Middle School. Valid from Sept. 26 through Sept. 30, there were 5,000 coupons to benefit Mt. Carmel High School, and from Oct. 1 through Oct. 5, were 2,500 coupons valid to benefit Black Mountain Middle School.
“We wanted to get involved with the community immediately starting with our grand opening which is why we chose to partner with two local schools,” said Brown, who brings her prior experience as a rocket scientist, a high school math teacher and an active community service volunteer to her role at Jersey Mike’s. “We are looking forward to becoming a part of this community and working with the many families who live here.”
