East Coast Sub Sensation Opens 4th Location in Tampa

Owners Celebrate Grand Opening with Free Subs

September 20, 2012 • Tampa, FL

Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, officially opened its doors in South Tampa on September 12.  Franchise owners Brian Kenny, Todd Quinzi, and Bryan Pagán held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, September 12 to Sunday, September 16 to support the South Tampa Family YMCA.

The new restaurant, located at 1155 S. Dale Mabry Highway, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community, offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to the South Tampa Family YMCA.  Half of the 10,000 coupons were valid through September 16 and the other half were valid through September 30.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike’s continued its steady growth in 2011 opening 69 new restaurants throughout the country, a 15 percent increase overall.  The popular sub shop wins best sub awards in virtually every market it enters.

Brian Kenny, Todd Quinzi, and Bryan Pagán exemplify Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community.  In 2011, locations throughout the country raised more than $2 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 200,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

“Working with the South Tampa Family YMCA is a great way for us to help those who are active in the community to become even more active, as well as support families that otherwise don't have the means,” said Pagán.  “Additionally, through our relationship with the YMCA, we hope to help create additional programs and help purchase equipment that will foster healthier families within the community.”

Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way™ with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature blend of olive oil, red wine vinegar and spices.  Unlike its pre-sliced competition, the company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread.  Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago.  The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.

Brian Kenny, Todd Quinzi, and Bryan Pagán also own Jersey Mike’s locations in Tampa and Oldsmar, opened in 2001 and 2009.  In addition to being franchise owners, Brian Kenny and Todd Quinzi are area directors for Jersey Mike’s.  As area directors, Kenny and Quinzi oversee the development and operations of Jersey Mike’s locations in the region.
