Jersey Mike’s Subs Raises Funds For Two Organizations at Grand Opening
Owners Celebrate with Free Subs
December 15, 2011 • Virginia Beach, VA
Another Jersey Mike’s Subs opened its doors in Virginia Beach. Jersey Mike’s owners, Martin Anderson and Clark Stallings know the importance of community relations and celebrated their new ties with the area during their grand opening on December 14.
To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 1047 Independence Blvd, is hostied a 5-day fundraiser from Wed., Dec. 14 through Sun., Dec. 18, with proceeds supporting the Salvation Army and Bayside Middle School. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution. Four thousand coupons were distributed throughout the community and in local newspapers.
“The Salvation Army is a worthy organization that truly drives their fundraising effort for less fortunate families during the holiday season,” said Anderson. “Since we are opening in December, the timing is perfect to help out.”
Anderson and Stallings hope to reach more members of the community by additionally sponsoring Bayside Middle School. “We believe that it is a personal responsibility of everyone to give back to the communities in which we live and work,” said Stallings. “We invite the community to stop in for a sub and support these two worthy organizations.”
All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well. “At Jersey Mike’s we believe you have to participate in your community to be a success,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO. “Martin and Clark are enthusiastic and effective business leaders who care about their community. We support their efforts and congratulate them on their newest location.”

He began as an employee in the Greenville market and worked his way up to store manager, then operator and now is a multi-unit franchisee.
Stallings contributes 20+ years experience as a business owner in the insurance and automobile finance field. Together, their business savvy and diverse experience has shaped a winning team. Stallings and Anderson are proud to continue their success as the developers and franchisees of their 5th location.
