In the News
Every Jersey Mike’s in Ventura County, CA during the month of October sold their signature #13 sandwich for a good cause, partnering with the St. John’s Healthcare Foundation to benefit the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Oxnard.
For every #13 sold in each of the ten stores, $1.00 was donated to the 16-bed NICU throughout the month, raising a total of $15,013!
It’s comforting for new parents to know that St. John’s has a neonatal intensive care unit, more commonly known as a NICU, at its facility in Oxnard. Innovative services benefit infants in need, including ventilator support, a specialized, highly trained nursing staff, expert neonatologists and high tech medical equipment for all infants who require this level of care in a supportive, compassionate environment.
“The high quality of healthcare that St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital delivers is vital to the region,” said St. John’s Healthcare Foundation Board Member David Press. “I couldn’t be more thrilled that Jersey Mike’s, a high quality sandwich shop, is further enhancing St. John’s Hospital’s quality with its generous support of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.”
Dear Jersey Mike’s Supporters,
Thanksgiving Day is a time of special celebrations. It certainly is a time to be thankful to Native Americans, thankful to our founding fathers and mothers, thankful for a yearly harvest and it’s a time to express gratitude to family, friends, colleagues and supporters.
From my perspective, I am thankful to all of the generous hospital supporters in this great community. Jersey Mike’s recent fundraising efforts inspired many people here at the hospital and in the surrounding communities. As a matter of fact, we have had a couple of businesses approach us after seeing your promotion with interest in doing a similar fundraiser. Simply put the hospitals could not do a number of special projects, continue to offer quality care to our patients, sustain cutting edge medical services and to serve our entire community, without active participation and support from generous people like you, thank you.
I am particularly mindful when so many have suffered this past year from natural disasters how thankful we are to have so many wonderful gifts and blessings bestowed upon us. May this Thanksgiving be special for each of you. Thank you all for your support.
Warm personal regards,
Heather Nunes

Jersey Mike’s Subs has been serving its authentic New Jersey submarine sandwiches for more than a half-century. Known for its New Jersey-style subs, made “Mike’s Way” with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature blend of olive oil, red wine vinegar and spices, each franchise uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread.
